I started my carrier as a print magazine designer, than as a animator, with strong foundation on design principles I have moved to UX/UI design. HFI course helps me to understand the process well. Now I'm practicing User Experience design for the last 4 years.
Many companies in India are just stepping into UCD approach. Though they seems to be understand the importance of user engagement, they are pretty skeptical about adapting the UCD approach, because it involves process change also. I found it really challenging , that makes me take responsibility beyond UX roles and identify a design approach which fit inside the existing process.
At the efficient side, I also spend time on process improvement design asset creation etc to faster up the development. My learning in my experience is, user pretty much know what they wanted.
All we have to do is listen to them and provide more opportunity to provide their feedback. It is also a challenging task to analyses what the user meant about. Most of the time what they meant is not what they are said. It were my research play a role.
